US NORTHWEST:
Based on the New Yorker July 20, 2015 issue, the last Cascadia Subduction Zone earthquake-tsunami occurred on January 26, 1700 (Precise date was identified by the Japan’s Samurai era tsunami history note, which killed 159 people in Japan). A similar catastrophe could occur at anytime “not if, but when”, and the next Really Big One’s potential for human casualties could be estimated at 13,000 people or higher. The land based power and communication systems, including the backup systems, would be decimated, and many cities and towns including the Seattle area, and the Portland area, would be stranded and isolated. The Live Visual Tsunami Warning System would be able to provide a communication infrastructure, in the event that a disaster has compromised the cities’ abilities to communicate with their citizens.
NANKAI TROUGH JAPAN:
The next area of a potential tsunami catastrophe which is overdue is the Nankai trough in Japan, and the estimated causalities would be as high as 300,000 people. Even, if Japan’s latest deep ocean pressure sensor warning system would be implemented. It is essential to have the live view instinct to move people, and the direct communication with the live video warning messages with sound would accomplish this.
